A
remodel of an existing courtyard used for vehicular parking, service delivery
and pedestrian access to a football field into a park-like plaza for pedestrian
circulation, and exterior lunchroom, and a sculpture garden.
BCA
Architects aided Ladd Community Consolidated School District 94 in successfully
passing a referendum to construct a new school and to provide architectural
services for the new building, which will include 42,000 square feet of new
space.
A
new cafeteria and modern kitchen facility were designed to accommodate the current
student population. Due to increased enrollment, the original gymnasium had
also served as the cafeteria, restricting its use and impeding the process of
food service.
The
existing building was remodeled and a new addition was built in order to adequately
house a rural grade school with a kindergarten through 8th grade enrollment
capacity of 500 students.
BCA
Architects carried out sitework and the exterior and interior remodeling of
the existing 16,000-square foot building and designed two additions of 40,000
square feet.
A
classroom addition containing a music room, practice room, science lab, computer
lab, two special education rooms, and a language arts classroom were built.
A separate addition housed administration offices and served as a main entrance.
Four
schools within a unified school district needed additions of varying sizes and
purposes. A total of 48,100 square feet were added and all four schools were
remodeled.
