Harding Grade School: The existing facility consisted of a 100-year-old, 7,000-square-foot wood frame classroom building and a 35-year-old, 5,000-square-foot masonry gymnasium. In order to have a final cohesive facility, the siding was removed from the existing wood frame building and the building was clad with face brick to match the-13,300 square-foot addition which houses a new cafeteria, library, administrative offices and seven classrooms.
Sheridan Grade School: The 7,100-square-foot addition was designed to provide enough classroom space to accommodate two classrooms for each grade and a multipurpose room that also could be utilized as an art room and music room. The exterior design incorporated the existing imagery to avoid the appearance of a small addition tacked onto the existing facility.
Serena Grade School: The addition was designed to provide much needed special education and general classrooms. The 4,000-square-foot addition also allowed for existing classrooms to be remodeled into the school administration offices at the front of the school rather than at a secluded rear location, and for a library/media center.
Serena High School: The new 23,700-square-foot addition will provide a new gymnasium and cafeteria. The former will triple the capacity of the existing gymnasium, allowing for a much-needed increase in physical education activities; and also will accommodate full-size athletic courts and adequate seating capacity for all extra-curricular events.
